Tree Service Project

This Saturday we got to do a family service project down at the temple. The kids from our ward got to plant a tree!
This is Leilani helping to dig the hole! They Tried to get her to jump on the shovel, so it would go into the ground, but she just dug like a little dainty princess!

Leighton was all over things. He had a blast and couldn't get enough turns.

James did not want to be left out of the fun. He spent time breaking up the soil and getting it ready to put around the tree. (Mostly he just tried to use the shovel as a spoon and eat as much dirt as possible!)

So how many people does it take to plant one tree, you ask? We have a great ward, and thus a great turn out, pretty much the whole ward came out to help the primary plant their one tree. It still took us an hour though!

In Leighton's tiny fingers you will notice something slimy and wigglely. I suppose no service project that has to do with dirt could be complete with out the shear joy of discovering worms!
